Our Story

How Burapha Counsel came to be

Burapha Counsel was established in Khon Kaen by a small group of legal professionals who had spent years working on pension disputes in northeastern Thailand. What they found, repeatedly, was that people arrived at the wrong time — either too late, or before they had properly understood their situation. Agreements had already been signed. Deadlines had passed. Options had closed.

The practice was built to address that gap. From the beginning, the focus has been on giving clients an honest picture of where they stand — not just a legal assessment, but a human one. What does this mean for you, practically? What are your realistic options? What happens if you act, and what happens if you wait?

We have kept the practice deliberately small. That choice allows each client to work directly with the person handling their matter, rather than being passed between departments. It is a slower way to grow, but a better one for the people who come to us.

Our Mission

What we are here to do

Clarity before anything else

Before we discuss options or next steps, we make sure you fully understand your current position. No jargon, no shortcuts.

Fair outcomes, not victories

Our aim is a reasonable resolution that reflects your entitlements — not an escalation for its own sake.

Your pace, not ours

We work on your timeline. Questions are welcome at every stage. Nothing is done before you are ready.

Our Expertise

Pension matters require specific knowledge — and patience

Pension-related legal work in Thailand sits at the intersection of employment law, administrative procedures, and fund regulations. The relevant provisions are spread across several pieces of legislation, and the practical interpretation often depends on which authority or fund is involved. Generic legal advice rarely serves people well in this area.

Burapha Counsel concentrates specifically on this field. That focus means our counsel have encountered most of the scenarios that arise — disputed entitlements, delayed payments, fund transfers following employment changes, and disagreements over the calculation of pension amounts. We know which documents matter, which arguments carry weight, and where the pressure points typically are.

We also work with clients who are not in dispute at all — people who simply want a clear picture of their pension standing before making a decision about retirement, a career change, or a significant financial step. An Assessment in those circumstances is not about resolving a conflict; it is about making an informed choice.

For clients whose matters do require correspondence or formal handling, our approach is always to seek resolution through the proper channels in a measured way. Escalation is sometimes necessary, but it is never our first instinct, and we will always discuss it with you before proceeding.
