Somchai Phongphit
Retired teacher · Khon Kaen
"I had been receiving less from my pension fund than I expected for over a year, and I didn't know how to raise the matter formally. Kittisak reviewed everything, explained exactly where the shortfall came from, and wrote to the fund on my behalf. The difference has now been corrected and backdated."

"The written summary I received was genuinely useful — not something I had to translate from legal language myself. It gave me a clear picture before I decided whether to pursue the matter further. I chose not to, and I felt comfortable with that decision after the assessment."

"My pension from a previous employer had not been transferred correctly when I left the company. The matter took about three months to resolve properly, but Burapha Counsel handled the whole process — I only needed to sign documents and answer questions when asked. Very thorough."

"I contacted Burapha Counsel after receiving a notice from the Government Pension Fund that I didn't understand. The team explained the notice clearly, told me it was not as serious as it appeared, and advised me on what to respond and how. That was all I needed — no further action required."

"The comprehensive case handling service covered everything. I had a complicated history with two former employers' funds and the situation had already dragged on for two years before I approached Burapha Counsel. Within four months there was a resolution I was satisfied with. The fees were fair given the work involved."

"What I appreciated most was not being pushed toward services I didn't need. After the position assessment, the counsel said clearly that the issue was something I could resolve with the fund myself using the template they provided. That honesty meant a lot."

How specific matters were handled
Clarifying an unexplained reduction in pension payments
Challenge
A client in Khon Kaen had received lower-than-expected monthly payments from a provident fund for eight months, with no explanation from the fund administrator.
Approach
We reviewed the fund documents, identified a contribution recalculation following an employer reclassification, and prepared a written summary and a formal query letter to the fund.
Outcome
The fund acknowledged the error within three weeks and corrected both the ongoing payment and issued a lump sum for the eight months of underpayment.
"I had been worried this would be a long and expensive process. The assessment gave me a clear picture and a letter that actually worked — the matter was settled faster than I expected."
Resolving a delayed fund transfer following employment change
Challenge
A client who had left their employer fourteen months earlier had not received their provident fund balance despite repeated informal requests to the former employer's HR department.
Approach
We sent a formal demand letter citing the applicable regulatory timeline, followed by a second letter to the fund itself. A formal complaint to the Securities and Exchange Commission was prepared but not required.
Outcome
The transfer was completed within six weeks of our first formal letter, including late-accrual interest. Total duration of our engagement was approximately two months.
"I had given up chasing this informally. Having Burapha Counsel send formal correspondence made the difference immediately — things moved that the same week."
Formal dispute resolution following incorrect pension calculation
Challenge
A retired civil servant's government pension had been calculated using an incorrect base salary, resulting in a systematically lower pension than entitled. The matter had been informally rejected twice by the relevant department.
Approach
We assembled the full documentation, prepared a formal submission citing the applicable pension regulations, and represented the client before the administrative appeals committee.
Outcome
The committee upheld the client's position and ordered a pension recalculation and arrears payment covering a 28-month underpayment period. Duration: four months from engagement to resolution.
"After two rejections on my own I thought this was a closed matter. Burapha Counsel reopened it through the right channel and the outcome exceeded what I had been asking for."
